System Update is offering Active Protection system for my X1 Carbon. Why?
The readme says it is for Hard Drives and I use it on my X230.
But why is it offered for my X1.
The display driver System Update offers will not install.
Yes, System Update is up to date.
Can Lenovo Technical Support shed any light or do I need to call them.

Active Protection System is offered for ThinkPads with only SSD because it is also used by the Intelligent Cooling feature:

APS intelligent cooling as noted above.
There is also a new Intel Graphics driver on your support page dated 07/18/2017.
It is probably newer than the one (failing install), offered by System Update.
Please locate your SU run log and attach it to a post reply. It is located in
It is best to .zip it first.

OK, Thanks. I looked at the log and only has today's entries and does not have any informative information - just what was scanned (nothing today) and what was hidden.
I am going to look for the video driver from July 18 and see if it will install.

I got the new Video Driver - Thank you.
The correct driver never came up in System Update - only the incorrect driver.
I installed Active Protection and should not have. It promptly broke when it ran and the only screen I saw was "SSD is OK"
Now I cannot uninstall it as it does not live in Programs and Features.
I am going to look in software tools
Thanks again for your assistance.

The video driver in SU is older than the one on your support page.
Drivers in the SU catalog must go thru SU quality assurance, which takes 30 days+.
If you installed the support page video driver, Su should not offer the older version.
