Add EM7455 WWAN card on X1 Yogo 2nd Gen

Hello,

I recently bought a X1 Yoga 2Gen in a HK reseller which does not come with any Sierra EM7455 WWAN card. Would like to know if I can add the card in order to use mobile network for connecting the internet. The machine type is 20JDCTO1WW. Any reply would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi Superken,

As your system is CTO model can you message me your System's Serial Number through private message to check whether your system is WWAN ready or not.

I hope the above information helped you.

Please feel free to post in Lenovo Community Forums if you have any further queries!

Hello Ken,

Thanks for sharing the details, sadly your system is not WWAN ready as required Antennas are missing from your system  and also it can't be upgraded later on according to this thread.

Dear Prabhansh,

Too bad to hear that it is not WWAN ready Smiley Sad
I really want to add one but seems there is no luck for me. Anyway, really thanks for your advice.

Re: Add EM7455 WWAN card on X1 Yogo 2nd Gen

It is possible to retrofit the antennae. Requires taking apart the entire notebook. There are several threads in this forum about it. I did it on my x1 yoga 2nd OLED and WWAN now works wonderfully.
