Are there any Lenovo X220 owners with IPS that don't notice ghosting?

[ Edited ]

I need to pull the trigger soon and have been watching all the posts about fan noise, throttling and IPS ghosting.

Are there any users with an IPS screen who do not notice, or are not bothered by, ghosting on their IPS screen?

I would prefer IPS for the better viewing angles and color reproduction.

I have the "problem" but I believe that it is highly overrated as a problem. I am not bothered by it and really enjoy the amazing screen. And I'm really picky about screens.

As far as I can tell, the two units I got all exhibit ghosting if I just let the screen idle for too long (assuming idle at max brightness for more than 15 minutes), I think it's an issue that will be addressed by Lenovo later and for the time being, it doesn't hinder productivity unless your use of the company requires the image to stay stationary for an extended period of time.

I haven't experience any ghosting in my use of the IPS screen on my X220.... but neither have I specifically gone looking for it.

Cheers,

I bought mine in June (late May build) and I have no ghosting that I can see.  I love the IPS screen, fantastic display.

I use my X220 for about a month now and I don't see any ghosting issue. I never try to look for it but on my daliy use basis I never notice the ghosting.

Bought it at the beginning of May and I never noticed any ghosting. I always keep the brightness around 10, if that makes any difference.

What I noticed from the very beginning is that it is a fantastic display!

No ghosting (nor throttling nor fan noise) with mine.
Best display I've ever used and critical for precise image editing.
