those batteries seem to has build in timer that makes them go "unrepaired" after some time.
I have multiple cases of similar behavior on T60 and X60 batteries.
and what is funny my old T41 batteries still works fine after 5 years of use!

hi,
i now have the same problem. the battery just died and i have a flashing orange battery icon, the software tells me the battery is at 90% charge.
i read in the forum that the charging unit of the mainboard might be damaged if you keep running your notebook whilst the icon is flashing.
what was your solution? did you just buy a new battery and it worked again?
thanks in advance,
regards,
chris

Just got the same problem, 1 week before my laptop's warrenty dies...... I call BS...... It was working perfectly the day before and the timeing on this is way to conicidental.... I've owned this laptop scince it was new and NEVER discharged the battery entirly, I'll be on the phone with support for the next day or so but they say that my battery's warrenty is only 1 year so what a way to get me to spend some more on this scrap heap, put a time bomb into the battery..........

I've got the same issue and am wondering whether replacing the battery solves the problem. I've taken a look at a number of other threads and a couple of folks claim that their computer is frying their batteries. Is that happening to you guys too?
