Bios update failed

2009-09-18, 12:07 PM

Hi ho,

had some trouble with my X61 lately. I did a bios update, followed the instructions. everything worked fine, no errors. At the end, I was asked to reboot - and the machine was completely dead. I removed the main and the cmos battery for a few days, but nothing changed.

Are there any options I have? Is there a way to rewrite the bios in the labs? Can I get a plain mainboard replacement, without processors or anything? I still have them  ... :)

Thanks for considering,

Hein

try to remove the ram, and restart the laptop without it, does it make noise???

The CPU is fixed onto the motherboard and the X61 replacement motherboard is pretty expensive.
