Blank Keyboard for X120e?

Howdy folks.  Upon close inspection of the keys on my X120e, I've noticed that all the symbols seem to be printed on stickers attached to the individual keys.  I was wondering if there's either a way of removing these stickers without damaging/scratching the keys or if it's possible to order a completely blank keyboard from somewhere.  Anyone know anything about this?

Re: Blank Keyboard for X120e?

If you're willing to take off each key one by one then there are a plethora of products available that could strip off the stickers. There are chemical paint strippers that I bet would do the trick. Some are supposed to be safe on plastic. You can also try rubbing alcohol or acetone (if you're outside the U.S. that is). Just be careful not to melt the plastic keys.

Just out of curiousity, what's the plan?

Re: Blank Keyboard for X120e?

Well there are a few reasons.  The first is that I like the look of a keyboard with no lettering.  The second is that something about the lettering on the x120e I don't really like...it could be that it's too big or maybe the font.  The third is that I'm a touch typist so I really don't need the lettering.  You think something like Goo Gone would work?  If I do go down that route I definitely don't want to damage the keys (ie. scratching/degrading of the plastic).  Also, I've never removed keys from a keyboard before.  Is there a certain way of doing it or do you just go to town prying?

Re: Blank Keyboard for X120e?

I found the offset B letter really annoying.

The X120e keyboard keys are really difficult to pop off; I wouldn't recommend trying that.

You could always go the sticker route.

Re: Blank Keyboard for X120e?

Hello,

If you feel like experimenting, and do not mind replacing the keyboard if damaged, you might try this trick with a sugar cube.
