Re: Blank screen after Bios Ugrade to 3.15 on X200

I have now disconnected the CMOS battery, and will try to reboot in 15min or so.

After that, if it is still not working, I will try to find the phoenix bios recovery-tool lead_org mentioned.

thanks, Tobias

Eureka. The screen is now back, and I am in the bios.

Thanks a lot for all your help.

Should I reflash the bios now? Or just let it be as it is now?

Hopefully I can go on from here.

thanks alot, Tobias

Re: Blank screen after Bios Ugrade to 3.15 on X200

I had this issue after upgrading my X200 to Win 7 Pro and taking the Bios to 3.17

My laptop would take 10-15 mins to boot, then would work fine. Initially I fixed this by downgrading to 2.06 (which has others on here have suggested does work) however I wanted to sort this with a V3.xx bios.

The solution is to ensure the Intel AMT firmware is updated to the latest version (at present 4.21...) - as soon as this is done the laptop will boot cleanly in normal time. I presume there was some timeout built into the Bios to deal with the firmware conflict.

In order to update the firmware you need to follow the install instructions, run a CMD prompt as adminitrator, browse to the install directory for the FW update, then run the correct file at the prompt. After that all should be good with a 3.xx bios.

Hope that helps everyone?

Thank you very much, Alex!

Works fine!

Exact this was the problem.

Perhaps Lenovo can implement the Inten AMT Update in their System Update Tool or post an hint on download Page from BIOS-Update.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I had this problem too.  Unplugging the CMOS battery did the trick.

Thanks guys.
