Betreff: Brightness control issue on ThinkPad X220

Hi, I have news regarding the brightness issue.

No, it isn't the UMTS module.

In my case, I have deactivated the action for closing the lid and this is apparent the reason for the issue.

Well, if I press FN + F4 for standby mode and close the lid promptly, so the Notebook is going in standby mode but not finished. The issue exist.

Ok, I repeat this action but I'm waiting for the notebook is completly in standby and first after this I do close the lid. Everthing is fine and I haven't the issue :-D

I hope this information will help you and perhaps anybody will find a solution.

Thanks

I have this problem as well. No msata and no wwan. Sometimes it works normally, sometimes no response at all, sometimes brightness will change but no on-screen display.

Possuble workaround:

If I close the screen down and wait until it has finished going into sleep mode and then reopen the controls work again.
