Looking for some expert help please. My keyboard went out on my x1 3rd gen laptop. Ordered a replacement keyboard. Installed and all keys work and the touchpad works (although some intermittent freezes). However there are some problems -
- The Trackpoint does not work
- the three buttons above the touchpad don't work (left/scroll/right click)
- plugging in a usb mouse doesn't work
I have uninstalled synaptics pointing device, turned off/on trackpoint and touchpad in bios - but no luck. Driver is 188.8.131.52. Would sincerely appreciate some help here as the red button is my favorite little keyboard friend.

the best way will be ...make a windows clean install..then all lenovo drivers with the lenovo system update software...and then...windows updates .......

Thanks for suggestion. Clean install is pretty major. Hoping not to have to reinstall everything. Any less invasive steps that might be a fix before I consider clean install?
