Carbon X1 6th gen: long time to standby

I have an issue with my Carbon X1 6th generation. After undocking it and selecting power -> standby I would close the lead. Red LED would start blick slowly and the fan would continue to run for 10 or mo minutes. During this time laptop would still emit heat.

First time I have noticed this because after I put my laptop to sleep I would put it in a protective soft shell case and put in my backpack.

When I came home 1 hour later laptop was burning hot and and had still spinning fan.

might a similar issue, https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/X1-Carbon-6th-gen-Fan-stays-on-even-after-sle...

I mighit also say that battery is not holding so long as it used to be.

Re: Carbon X1 6th gen: long time to standby

Hi borys86,

Check out this thread. Although it's talking about X1 Yoga with similar problem, several replies mentioned "X1 Carbon 6th Gen got the S3 sleep option in BIOS" which exactly what you need. Try to update BIOS to the latest verion on your Carbon and activate S3 deep sleep in BIOS.
