Can anyone confirm that x250 do not whitelist anything and is bios free of Intel BootGuard. Mark Hopkins somewhere told that x250 is free of blockades but i need confirmations to be sure as it is big and long lasting and very expensive purchase to me.
There is chance i might try alternate bios-es in far future after warranty period is over but BootGuard would block this as for now i really need to know can i use every mpci card whatever i want officially.
Google this far has not given hundred percent answer.

txx201R,
Yes, I think I replied to some comments over on Lenovoblogs where customers were asking about whitelists.
I confirmed at the time that the X250 generation of ThinkPads should not have a WIFI whitelist as before. WWAN cards may still have whitelists.
I will check again to make sure nothing has changed

Mark, does it apply for X250 only or for all .50 and future .60 models ? That would be one of positive changes
If so, why there is no dedicated blog post about such good change ? Currently the information is hidden in forum posts only.

Mark please pass message to Lenovo administration that they should mark on every product page somewhere that WWAN locked Yes/No, WIFI locked Yes/No, unlockable BIOS Yes/No as this would be important for lot of people in future who plan to mod laptop or tablet after end of official service life. I even would build or rebuild new antenna frame if needed for WWAN/WIFI card in future.
I live in EU and Lenovo should make EU bios releases where this aful FCC wont try to rule world.
I hope Mark you get confirmation 100% currently that if WWAN and WIFI is open on x250, even if wifi slot is whitelist free it would be good start as in future i might want to buy 802.11ah card.
Best regards

Mark: any news from andministration that is x250 still using blocking, i have to be really sure that i can buy laptop that has future.
Question from friend of mine:
Does older x240 have way to remove wifi card blocking? he wants to use Killer AC card.

Bumping, perhaps there any x250 user who has tested lot of different cards and even this could help reach conclusion that is there some block or not. This currently holds my purchase.
