Re:Constant connect/disconnect notification sound
You should restart your laptop and the problem will be solved because it will happen whenever your laptop tries to check for update in Lenovo Vantage. It works for me and you guys should try it.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOUND
Mine started doing this too today (disconnect/connect sounds). Worse still, the machine stopped recognizing the power adapter…so I couldn’t even charge the laptop. Eventually I lost power to the point that I couldn’t boot the device.
I called Lenovo Support who got me up and running in 3 minutes. Here is what we did:
- Unplug the laptop from power source and all USB devices
- Flip the laptop over and locate the small reset hole. It’s very small, the width of paper clip. On my Carbon X1 7th Gen it’s just to the right of the fan vent.
- Insert a paper clip into the hole. Press down and hold it down for about 20 secs. Then remove the paper clip.
- Plug the power source back into the laptop and boot the laptop.
In my case, it completely solved the issue.
Note: Not all laptop models have the reset port.
I have the same problem on a P15v laptop (fully updated). It does not seem to be related to the presence or absence of a USB device plugged into one of the USB ports. The disconnect beep occurs at a very consistent 30 second interval. The beeping begins at what appears to be some random time after reboot, it might be as long as hours or days, however when it does begin the only solution I found was to reboot the laptop. I have tried diagnosing the problem using the event viewer, device manager and plugging/unplugging USB devices but was unable to discover anything meaningful. After it began again today I tried disabling the automatic power management on the USB ports as suggested in earlier posts. That seems to have solved the problem (but I need to live with it a bit longer before being certain).
I hope Lenovo or Microsoft can find the root cause and fix it because this is very annoying.
I actually had the same experience with Lenovo Vantage triggering this noise. I noticed this USB disconnect noise happening every 30 seconds and it would go away after I rebooted (particularly if I did a full shut down). At one point this did come back after rebooting, but after I updated my NVIDIA graphics drivers, restarting would make this USB disconnect noise go away. I then began to notice a pattern; it started acting up the same day every week, and realized it was happening every time Lenovo Vantage checked for updates.
In particular, the screen would flicker before the USB noise starts chiming every 30 seconds. With the screen flickering I figured it would be either problems with one of my graphics drivers, and for me the issue was the Intel UHD Graphics 630 driver (you can check it under Device Manager -> Display Adapters and look at the "Events" tab). On the days I had problems with it, I would get messages like "Device Configured" and days were it was REALLY problematic, "Device Not Started". I think Lenovo Vantage somehow upsets this driver when it's checking for updates (where Intel Graphics drivers are a very commonly updated item).
I am having the same issue. I disconnected my Lenovo wireless mouse and the problem disappeared for about two weeks. I was thrilled that I thought I'd found a solution, but today the sound bar started popping up and moving on it's own again, and the sound goes in and out, usually just when I need it most. Extremely frustrating.
Here is the solution as suggested by Graygeez under message 14/35:
'Control Panel>Power Options>Change Plan Settings>Change advanced power settings hit the + next to USB settings hit the + next to USB selective suspend settings change On Battery and Plugged in, to"Disabled"'
If the issue is the same, try reinstalling the OEM image through this link: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103653-lenovo-digital-download-recovery-service-ddrs-download-the-files-needed-to-create-a-lenovo-usb-recovery-key

I know this is an older thread but I've been experiencing the same problem and found an alternate solution to the proposed 'USB Disconnect' setting solution, which I don't have.
Search for 'Change System Sounds'. When the window opens, make sure you're in the 'Sounds' tab. There you'll see a list of actions/applications. Find 'Device Connect' and 'Device Disconnect'. Under 'Sound:' click on the drop-down and select 'None'.
This did the trick for me. Good luck.
