Dell power supply with USB-C adapter for X1 Carbon

Hi all.

I'd like to use this Dell power supply I already own

With my X1 Carbon 6th gen. The wrappable cable makes it a lot more convenient compared to the Lenovo power supply.

I have to add this USB-C adapter:

I'm wondering if I could expect a proper operation with the X1. The Dell power supply output is rated 19.5V, while (afaik) USB-C charging uses 20V. I have no idea whether this could be a problem.

Any suggestons? Can I trust it?

Re: Dell power supply with USB-C adapter for X1 Carbon

Hi Ip22!

Welcome to the Lenovo forum discussion!

Based from the reference manual of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen, the laptop come with a 45W or 65W USB Type C adapter. We recommend using the original AC Adapter for the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, so you will not encounter any future problem. If in any case that you will use a 3rd party AC Adapter and cause a major problem with the X1 Carbon, the warranty on the X1 Carbon will be voided, then Lenovo will no longer be able to provide a warranty service claim.
