Disable touchpad and trackpoint with external mouse on Carbon X1

I am trying to find a way that the touch pad and trackpoint will disable when I connect an external mouse.  Other computers I've used have a setting for this, but I can not find one the Carbon X1.

I don't want to disable them permanently (or at least not both of them) for those few times I'm not using an external mouse.

My preference would be to disable one permanently, and the other only when an external mouse is present.

Thanks

Re: Disable touchpad and trackpoint with external mouse on Carbon X1

Hi, mkmchugh

If there is such an option available, it would be with the mouse settings. Do you see anything related to disabling them with a USB mouse connected when you go to Mouse under Control panel and go to I believe is the Thinkpad tab?

Re: Disable touchpad and trackpoint with external mouse on Carbon X1

Hi MrPeter -

There is nothing related to disabling them with a USB mouse connected.  That's what I've been looking for.  It's been an option on every other computer I have owned, but it seems not on the Carbon.

There isn't a Thinkpad tab, it's been replaced by the UltraNav - again, no option there.

I'm not sure why this option wouldn't be available...

Thanks

Re: Disable touchpad and trackpoint with external mouse on Carbon X1

Hello,

any news on this ? I would like to have the touchpad disabled when an exernal mouse (bluetooth or usb) is connected to the laptop.

On windows 10 such option is not present for this laptop, while it is present for others: can someone give me an hint and help ?

Thanks in advance
