Display glitch (flashing pixels with dark colors)

I just purchased a thinkpad x301 and have been experiencing a strange display glitch, both in Windows Vista and Ubuntu Linux (which I'm currently running.) It's difficult to describe, but a pixelated static (sometimes flashing, white dotted lines and sometimes scattered flashing pixels) appears in certain places on the screen, often where there are dark colors.

Any ideas? This is an admittedly small, but VERY ANNOYING, problem.

Re: Display glitch (flashing pixels with dark colors)

Hi Martin,

Sorry to learn about your problems with the flashing pixels. Have you contacted Lenovo support yet? You might need another LCD panel installed to correct that issue.

Regards,

Mark

Re: Display glitch (flashing pixels with dark colors)

I did get it fixed eventually, but it took awhile. It turns out there was an issue with the video card. I sent the laptop to Lenovo by mail, but they never fixed the issue. It wasn't until I took it in to a local Lenovo certified repair place that they were able to locate and fix the problem.
