Does X1 Carbon 3rd Gen support NVMe SSDs?

2020-09-21, 22:53 PM

I am trying to upgrade the internal SSD of my Thinkpad X1 Carbon 3rd Gen to 500GB, but I am not sure if later BIOS updates enabled NVMe support. I know a few years ago other users said NVMe SSDs are not supported, but Crucial's website and Scanner Tool say they are. I asked their customers service twice and they are so confident internal M.2 NVMe SSDs are supported based on the data sheet they got from Lenovo, that they are even offering 100% guarantee. Does anyone know for sure?
