Does the Thinkpad X1 Extreme have WWAN

2018-09-27, 9:48 AM

Just a quick question

I have looked at the specs of the new X1 Extreme

Would like to know if it is fitted with a WWAN 4G LTE card?

X1 carbon has always been a business laptop , and if the X1 Xxtreme doe not have the WWAN facility it kinda defeats the purpose of a versilte extreme on  the go  business laptop.?

Any idea>

Going by the base spec, WWAN isn't an option.

Pity, so it seems the X1 Extreme is more suited for creative professionals ie, video editors & photographers , and some gamers , seeing that the screen size is also now 15.6"

My suggestion would be to put the same specs into the next 7th Gen X1 Carbon , ie  a 14" 4k touch screen with WWAN, 32/64GB Ram, 14 HR battery life 2TB SSD (Samsung Pro 960 same as in new macbook pro 13")  will make for a powerfull compact BUSINESS LAPTOP.

Just a suggestion Lenovo......

The Thinkpad X1 Extreme 2nd edition doesn't have WWAN either

2019-12-13, 3:26 AM

Pretty un-f'in-believable that this monster of a laptop does not have ANY configuration with WWAN.

Lenovo keeps repeating this pattern of cranking out excellent laptops, but with one really stupid thing about them, such as the **bleep**ty speakers on the X1C 1st gen, or the lack of grey/silver option on the X1C 2nd gen (black is an oil smudges magnet).

Does Lenovo actually LISTEN TO THEIR USERS?

What are we doing here LENOVO?

I want a 128GB 4TB NVME WWAN i9 OLED X1.

Others are upgrading your under powered X1's - look at Amazon. However, I want the support. I'm willing to pay.

BTW, it totally sucks that I still can only max out my thinkpad x1 yoga with the same exact configuration that I got 4 years ago.

again - What are we doing here LENOVO???

Ball in your court.
