Dolby Advanced Audio V2 Error Message After Lenovo Update

2012-10-20, 13:14 PM

I received the following error message after completing a Lenovo Update: "The current Dolby audio driver version is 8.2.8000.14 and the software application expects driver version 7.2.7000.7. Please install a valid driver and software application." I have run Lenovo Update again and no updates/downloads were required. What action do I need to take to correct the problem so that Dolby Advanced Audio V2 works correctly? Thank you for your help.

'morning...

have a look at: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-Edge/E430-Dolby-Advanced-Audio-Issue/td-p/826333

even though it was originally described as an E430 problem, there are reports in the thread that uninstalling Conexant Audio from Control Panel and rebooting fixed the Dolby Audio issue.

I had read the E430 comments/fix, but I don't have Conexant Audion on my x230t. Audio is Realtek and I can't find any driver associated dwith the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 software.

Thanks for your suggestion, but can you be more specific on "stock drivers"?

Hi, I think you can solve like this. At least I successfully did it in my Thinkpad T430s laptop.

1. uninstall your Realtek driver (for me it is version 6.0.1. 6710)

2. install another much older Realtek version 6.0.1. 6602, You can find this on Lenovo website:

    http://support.lenovo.com/en_CA/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS030646&rss=true

Do not care about its description and compatiability with your thinkpad version. It says it is designed for ThinkCentre

M72e, M78. You just download and run...

3. Restart your laptop, and install Dolby Advance Audio v2. Then you are done.

So far, I only find that Realtek 6.0.1.6602 works perfect with Dolby Advanced Audio v2. Other versions may also be good but I didn't try.

I had the same error on my E335 but rolling back the Realtek HD Audio driver in Control Panel fixed it.
