EM7455 not detecting service on X1 C5 after upgrade to Windows 10.

Good Evening,

Since windows 10 updated to 1709, my WWAN EM7455 is no longer getting service.

I have tried to install the driver proposed on Lenovo Website, but windows 10 refuse to accept the driver as not being certified for 64bits system.

Has anybody met the same issue and what could be the workaround?

thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Community

What's happening exactly? What're the symptoms? Do you see the cellular operator's entry on the win10' Network & Internet -> Cellular settings pane with the sim card inserted? Is there a button "Advanced options"? Does em7455 device persist in the Device Manager without errors? What was the previous version of the OS or win10 update?

Edit: typo

Re: EM7455 not detecting service on X1 C5 after upgrade to Windows 10.

Good evening and thank you.

Here is a more detailed description:

1) What's happening exactly?

My X1 was working on cellular fine since I have it and I was using it to connect when in the car or out of wifi coverage. For a week now, it stopped working and show me the name of my local operator (Azercell) and "no service"

What're the symptoms?

In the event viewer, there is  the following entry:

Log Name: System
Source: Microsoft-Windows-NDIS
Date: 14-Apr-18 19:09:17
Event ID: 10317
Task Category: PnP
Level: Error
Keywords: (16384),(16),(4),(2)
User: SYSTEM
Computer: <removed>
Description:
Miniport Sierra Wireless EM7455 Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A, {482d2bdb-e6df-496e-821b-8d51fa59b71a}, had event Fatal error: The miniport has failed a power transition to operational power

if i do a netsh, i obtain the following:

There is 1 interface on the system:

Name : Mobile
Description : Sierra Wireless EM7455 Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A
GUID : {482D2BDB-E6DF-496E-821B-8D51FA59B71A}
Physical Address : <removed>
Additional PDP Context : No (Physical interface)
Parent Interface Guid : No parent
State : Not connected
Device type : This is a remote device
Cellular class : GSM
Device Id : <removed>
Manufacturer : Sierra Wireless, Incorporated
Model : Sierra Wireless EM7455 Qualcomm
Firmware Version : SWI9X30C_02.24.05.06
Provider Name : Azercell
Roaming : Not roaming
Signal : 0%
RSSI / RSCP : 0 (-113 dBm)

The sim is recognised, and so is the card.

If I look at the diagnostic, i obtain the following message "Enter a SIM PIN2 to unlock the mobile braodband device". this seems a wrong message.

The driver used is the windows one and whenever i tried to reintall the lenovo drivers (nz3wn03w.exe) it fails even to detect drivers for x64.

Do you see the cellular operator's entry on the win10' Network & Internet -> Cellular settings pane with the sim card inserted? yes

Is there a button "Advanced options"? yes

Does em7455 device persist in the Device Manager without errors? yes

What was the previous version of the OS or win10 update? I think taht it was 16XX version

regards,

Dom
