Ericsson F3507g Mobile Broadband Driver problems

2009-06-18, 10:09 AM

Hello!

Recently I installed the latest updates for my computer through the System Update program. Unfortunally it seems like the updater doesn't manage to install all the updates, and that are the drivers for the "Ericsson F3507g Mobile Broadband Minicard PC SC Port". I open it in "device management" (dont't know the translation), and find there are no drivers installed. So is it also for the "Ericsson ... GPS Port/Device Management".

Because of this I can no longer connect to WiFi.

I have visited lenovos driver pages, and downloaded the requested driver, including the others needed, and installed them manually. The problems is that Ericcson driver keeps "rolling back" during installation after having paused at 100% (the same happened through System Update). It resets the installation, only leaving the message that it was interrupted.

I have never had this problem before, and I don't see why I suddenly would be without WiFi drivers. However I'm stuck, can't find any previous driver versions to install (nor roll back to an older driver as there is none).

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Thanks

Hi torumhau, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!

It will help the members help you if you post your product number and the OS you are using (don't post your serial number).

Your symptoms are confusing. You are having problems with your WWAN card driver installation, but the problem is that the WiFi card does not work?

USB-C: Just cos it fits don't mean it works.
I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

Hi! Thanks for reply.

Product ID: 74553SG

OS: Vista Business 32

Yes, I have thought the same! When I turn on my computer Access Connection tells me there are no compatible WAN drivers installed, and right after Windows start searching up drivers for the Ericsson WWAN - card. So I've concluded there have to be a connection somehow. (I'm no expert, so I might be wrong of course!) I probably should have mentioned that also the "Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #4" and "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo - Interface" are noted in the "device management" list. The "Teredo.." cannot start, while the "ISATAP" don't have the necessary drivers (it does however have drivers installed when you try to update them).

I'm not sure if that helped or just made it even more confusing...

Volunteering is great! Keep it up. ;)

Hi!

I've installed Vista from scratch, everything went right except the Ericsson f3507g wwan driver install. It always cancels the core module installation at the very end.

The msi logs say something about error 1603 - no privileges to destination directory. I don't think this is the problem, I tried everything as Administrator as well and the System user has all the necessary privileges (I think).

Has someone a clue?

Thanks.

 Hi!

I tried to log in to Vista as Administrator, uninstall the Access Connection SW and F3507G drivers (which appeared at the installed SW list, but it was wrong).

After that, I installed the above through the Administrator account.

I got further! The installation wen't through, some parts were still skipping, but the way seems to be right.

Unfortunatelly I can't report about this from now on, my x200 died (?) today morning - 1 long 2 short beep + blank screen.

I try and will believe in Lenovo, but I got some bad series I think...

Today when I tried the System Updater, everything seemd to go as it should. I'm not sure what made the difference, but the guys at lenovo might just have solved the issue or something. I don't have any Wifi to connect to right now, but Windows has stop complaining, and "unit management" seems fine (still a hatch at the ISATAP- and Pseudo-thingie, but I'm not sure it that matters). At least, the Ericsson card has got its drivers, and I guess that solvs it.

Need to test, but I'm optimistic. :smileywink:

Hi,

same problems here.... During the update of the Ericcson F3507g with Sytem Update the installation stopped with the message I should install manually. Manual install is not helping though. The installer stopps after a while and the installation is rolled back.

Running System Update again (07-07-2009) won't solve the problem.

Pretty annoying since the charge for the UMTS flat still has to be paid. Guess T-Mobile doesn't care if Lenovo bricked an update...

Is Lenovo investigating this problem? Could we have an official statement?

Win x64 Business SP2 here, all went well untill the update!

Thanks for your support (hopefully)

Edit: I got an 2776-LEG

Re: Ericsson F3507g Mobile Broadband Driver problems

Ok, maybe this can be of some help for someone:

The following procedure worked for me:

1. Locate the last version of the Ericsson F3507g Core in C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\System Update\session\7uwc44ww_64

2. Run the  setup64.exe

3. Deinstall the driver

4. Run System Update again and try again the Ericsson F3507g Core Update

Now it should work.

The strange part for me was that the new v1.0.1046.223 version on the Lenovo Support Website didn't provide an uninstall option. Somehow System Update didn't clean up before installing the new version...

Please note that I have a x64 System, directory names may vary.

Happy again, great laptop! :D
