External battery-pack is no longer recognized after bios flash Thinkpad X260

2021-02-20, 15:53 PM

Hello Community,

because I have changed my keyboard of my X260 I disconnected all plugs of my mainboard, including the plug of my mainboard-battery.

After my work the Bios has probably been flashed as I had to set up again the time of my Bios.

Unfortunately my Thinkpad  X260 doen´t recognice any more my external batterie. There was some report in Windows, that the "battery-pack isn´t authorized."

Actually I have more than one external battery, so I could try out several ones. And as far as I can say, all of them seem to be original Lenovo.

Can somebody help me?

I already tried to do a Reset as shown in this video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZCMMb-fjng

I deinstalled my Microsoft Surface ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery

My Bios-Version seems to be: R02ET74W (1.47 )

My systems runs on Windows.

Thank you very much!

Hello Tobias83

Welcome to the Community Forums.

BIOS does holds whitelisted battery authorized on the machine.

Not sure of the authenticity of the battery but you can try reloading the BIOS defaults.

Thanks,

as far as I know, I already tried this, too.

But can look at it, again.

What about a new BIOS Version? Could this help? Or this there even the chance, that I could make the problem worse?

Is it worth to try this out? This are possible updates from the Lenovo-Support-site...
