Just to confirm, I ordered in August delivered in one week and did not notice any issues after BIOS update,definitely no ghostin ,very pleased with my buy,even though I was pretty sceptic at first,due to raising issues ,but cannot be more satisfied.

That's great news.  I just got back from a month on the road, and while in the office I don't notice the ghosting since I rely primarily on an attached LCD, after a few days of working on the 12.5" screen it became rather annoying!  Glad I have NBD service!

Can anyone confirm if in the US if the fix has been entered into the call center database yet so they know what I'm talking about when I call?

Thanks,

Dan

I send my machine back to service center in Memphis TN. They refuse to replace the screen for me. I don't know what I can do now. Did anyone else in the US send their machine back yet? Thanks.

@tendant,

Did you contact the call centers before sending your laptop in? What were their reasons to reject the service?

Tendent,

There is still some internal doccumentation pending release to all service teams that should clear this up.   We've sent some internal communications last week to try to raise awareness, but it may not be all smoothed out just yet.

If you can share your case number, we can try to help ensure you get the service needed.

Apologies,

Mark

@JameZ

I have called them before sending my laptop. They confirmed that my x220 has this issue, but they said this is normal according to the support document.

Thanks for your help.

Ok, just got my screen replaced.

Manufacturing date: 110820

Observations:

1. White point temp is slightly warmer. (Not an issue for me)

2. Backlight bleed is less on the bottom, now almost unnoticeable when the brightness is maxed, and the screen is black.

3. I can still make the screen ghost... Sorry to report this.  The issue is MUCH reduced now, but in grey gradients, in high contrast situations, there will still be a slight ghosting issue.

At this point, I think I'm about done with this issue.  It's hardly noticeable.

@atomicminded,
How did you get your screen replaced? Did you send it back to repair center? My x220 was sent back to repair center in US. But  Lenovo still refuses to replace the screen for me.
Thanks.

I have priority onsite.

I called, said: "I want my screen replaced."

Lenovo: "Ok, we'll send someone out tomorrow."

Yes, it went like that.
