Re: Faint Ghosting on X220 IPS screen

Hi guys,

I have the same problem with the x230- I have backlight bleeding across the bottom. I am 99% certain the problem is with the sturdiness of the panel, rather than the screen itself. The panel cannot support the screen because of its flex. If I gently push one corner of my panel the whole backlight bleed pattern changes completely.......

Re: Faint Ghosting on X220 IPS screen

oxf77,

In many cases, backlight bleed appearance is affected by pressure of the bezel on the LCD surface, so pressing on one side or the other may change this.

Re: Faint Ghosting on X220 IPS screen

Bringing this thread back from the dead to ask whether this issue was ever truly fixed. My 2011 X220 had this from the beginning, I had the screen replaced a year and a half ago, but the new screen is exactly the same as far as image persistence is concerned. Thankfully, it has zero dead pixels and passable backlight uniformity.

I still have a year of warrant and would like to know whether going in for another panel replacement is worth it.
