Can anyone help me? I purchased the Thinkpad X1 Extreme yesterday. Fingerprint scanner does not work. Is this a software issue? Device manager claims the biometric devices are working fine.

Hi frsc_grad! Welcome to our forums community. Let's try and activate and reset the fingerprint reader in the BIOS.
1. Boot to BIOS
2. Go to Security tab > fingerprint
3. Make sure Predesktop Authentication is [Enabled]
4. Go to "Reset Fingerprint Data" and press [Enter] to reset
5. Save and exit
Check if the issue persist. If yes, try running the update from the Lenovo Vantage app. You can get it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/lenovo-vantage/9wzdncrfj4mv#activetab=pivotverviewtab. Install all available updates then restart the computer. Update us how it goes.
