I've been using the new 6th gen X1 Carbon for about 2 months now. All of a sudden today, my fingerprint sensor does not work. When I turned on my laptop, I tried using the fingerprint sensor for log-in. The sensor won't even flash (orange for failed, white for success). Did anyone have this similar issue? How do I fix it?

Your computer probably installed the Windows Spring Creators Update, version 1803. It is known to mess with the fingerprint software.
Reinstall the latest fingerprint software from Lenovo's support site. Then reboot. It should work again after that.

If the Lenovo driver reinstall does not fix the problem, try installing the SGX extension below and rebooting.

My fingerprint on Carbon X1 6Gen is working almost never. I have saved three different fingers, in max. 30 % of the windows starts one of them is recognized. I have reset the fingerprints several times, this does not solve the problem. Is this the mentioned problem or something else?

Got a i530s two days ago. Fingerprint scanner worked fine. Did the dreaded update: nothing. Tried the various driver tricks: nope. Then i just installed the update, a simple process under updates - revert to prior build: works.
