HELP- Error Code 52 Windows Digital Signature Lenovo DVD Burner HL-DT-ST_DVDRAM_GSA-U10N_1.05

I have 2 Thinkpads -X61 and a X61s - which show the same problem with the Ultrabay drive. After upgrading from XP Pro and Vista 64bit to WIN 7 32 and 64 bit versions, the DVD Burner is not recognized.

The difficulty which I am running into with the original Lenovo DVD burner HL-DT-ST_DVDRAM_GSA-U10N________________1.05____ in the Ultrabay gets in the divice manager:

"Code 52: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device"
Googling the problem came with an solution where while rebooting W7 I have to press F8 and unable  loading only certified digital signatures. Then the drive works but only for one session until shutting down or until putting it in standby. On wake up or start without the solution it will not find the DVD drive.
Unfortunatelly support hotline wants me to send maschines in after remoting into it and I do not see a sense to do so. Please release a patch/singed driver as it is all original Lenovo equipment and hardware is working normal when applying the reboot & F8 solution.
I am updating all drivers regulary and nothing was released yet to take care of this problem.
Thank you.
PS I am still under warranty. Case #13PVLTH

Hi there just wondered whether you ever fixed your error code 52 problem and if so how?

I am now sitting with the same problem and I have a Lenovo V570c laptop.  Please help me.

Hello,

Perhaps the following will be of assistance to you:

Microsoft Knowledgebase Article # 314060, "Your CD drive or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs"

It contains a link to a Microsoft Fixit, which is a troubleshooting wizard designed to solve a certain class of problems.
