Headset for Lenovo X240

The headset that I have with me has two separate jacks - one for mic and other for audio. But Lenovo X240 wouldn't support it as it has only a single port. Can you suggest what splitter/adapter I can use to connect my headset with the laptop. My headset has a 3.5 mm jack for audio and mic.

Thank you.

Re: Headset for Lenovo X240

For the headset with separate jacks for mic and phones use 2 x 3.5mm 3 pole jack sockets to 1 x 3.5mm 4 pole jack plug adapter or a short cable. Take a note jack plug must match OMTP specification. Another type is CTIA/AHJ.

Not every supplier specifies a jack plug type. So, read the comments under the device lot, at least. If some user mentions compatibility with Apple devices, it's not your choice as Apple supports CTIA specification only.

As an example of Lenovo devices compatible adapter (not an advertising), read the comments:

x220 • Gobi 2000 3g | hdd, msata ssd, wwan, wifi, gps -- unique hand-made config
ThinkPad 25 Special Anniversary Edition. #retro. Signed by D.Hill
T470p | X1 Carbon Gen3 | Miix 2 10" | Yoga Tablet 2-1050F (Android) + BT Keyboard
ThinkPad Stack • 2.4/5 Wireless Router, HDD 1 TB, BT Speaker, Power Bank, Mobile Projector

Do it well, worse becomes itself

Re: Headset for Lenovo X240

Definitely get the StarTech one. I bought a Conwork one because it was a 2 back, but it was poor quality and didn't give stereo output to the headset - it was mono.
