Help Needed In Setting Up Sierra Wireless EM 7355

I have lenovo x240 with windows 8.1x64 operating system

recently I have installed xn EM7355 modem for WAN support.

After installation the driver system is trying to configure the mobile broadband driver and it fails at the point of 87% giving error 4 (Refer the attached screen shot).

Does anyone have the same problem?

is there any solution for this

thanks,

waiting for a valuable reply

Re: Help Needed In Setting Up Sierra Wireless EM 7355

Hi

I hope you mean em7355, so the thread title has a typo. Please, specify.

em7355 is useless in Sri Lanka LTE networks as it is suitable for North America networks mainly. Do your SIM card or contract with cellilar operator have LTE only service restrictions? In your country this modem will work in 3G networks only, depending on the cellular operator.

Re: Help Needed In Setting Up Sierra Wireless EM 7355

Hi,

thank you for your valuable reply.

yes it is a typo the modem is em7355.

As you said, I need to use it for 3g only.

I was unable to configure it for windows 7, 8.1 and 10 each time it struck at 87%

Re: Help Needed In Setting Up Sierra Wireless EM 7355

Where do you see "87%"? You promised to show a screen shot in the 1st post. It seems you aren't able to do that yet, so, upload it to the file sharing service and post the link here.

Contact your cellular operator's support team to make sure your SIM card supports 3G service. Also, tell us, please, the name of the cellular operator and confirm your location Sri Lanka.

Re: Help Needed In Setting Up Sierra Wireless EM 7355

There might be several causes of issue.
Perform, please, the following actions to test the modem and SIM card:
- open the command prompt window (cmd)
- type in and execute the commands below, one by one
- post the outputs here (remove the part of the subscriber ID for your privacy)

netsh mbn sh int
netsh mbn sh cap int=*
netsh mbn sh rad int=*
netsh mbn sh read int=*

Also, could you open the Windows Event Log (exactly, the System log) by eventvwr.exe and find out the entries about the sources of "87% error" and error with code #4? You might do it by the time of errors appearing in the Windows tray.

Re: Help Needed In Setting Up Sierra Wireless EM 7355

Firstly, open the Windows Service Manager (services.msc), find out and start the service "WWAN AutoConfig". I think this missing service is a cause of issues.
