I am going to upgrade my laptop very soon. I really like the X1 carbon but also fancy the Yoga. I will be buy the highest performance available for my needs.
It appears the Carbon and Yoga can be purchased with the same i7 and ram configurations. Ports are the same as well? I need at least 1 thunderbolt connection. Am I missing any performance differences between them a the high end?
It would appear the biggest trade off is the extra size and weight of the Yoga? The Carbon being more svelte? I would not use the Yoga in tablet/pen mode but it would be nice to have and perhaps I find more applications for it.
I am in IT admin - I wish they still had real Ethenet ports... but I get the form factor will not support it.
Thanks in advance for any all/help.

Hi Warder2112,
My two cents: If you don't need the tablet/pen mode, the X1 Carbon is svelter. If you want the sveltest machine with a real Ethernet port, look at the T480s.

I'm in complete agreement with bananaman's suggestion. I have a T480s and an X1 Carbon(Gen 5). Both are comfortable to travel with and to work on.
It would be good to seriously consider the T480s if you want an Ethernet port.

Thanks - hmmm. I am surprised there are not Yoga people chiming in.
I have a YOGA, too, but I don't use tablet mode often. It depends on your needs.
