I want to totally disable hibernate on my computer. I followed the instructions here http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-enable-hibernate-option-in-windows-7/ and it seemed to work because "Hibernate" disappeared from the start menu. However, when I hit the FN hotkey the box still goes into hibernate.
Can I disable this?

So the Lenovo Power Manager software has to be installed to accomplish this? There's no way to do it without having the software installed, like from the BIOS or something?

Out of curiosity, does issuing a "powercfg.exe -h off" command from an elevated Command Prompt (filename: CMD.EXE) make any difference?

No, this is what I originally tired. It disable hibernate in Windows, but it does not disable the Fn Hotkey from activating Hibernate. Unfortunately

this doesn't work. The Hibernate hotkey is Fn + F12. The Global Power Settings tab only lists Fn F4. But this is the Sleep key. This is not an issue. Hibernate is what I want to disable (the Fn F12 hotkey).

I guess the only solution is a BIOS option to disable Hibernate. Unfortunately no such option exists in the current BIOS.
I use the other FN hotkeys so I don't want to disable all of them. None of the "solutions" that disable Hibernation from within the OS have worked to stop the Fn+F12 hotkey from re-activating hibernation.
