Re: How do I disable Hibernate FN hotkey? How do I disable Hibernate?

Hi there,

I had a similar problem:

I Installed an ssd resp. replaced the existing hard disc drive...

In the end I wanted to get rid of the hiberfil.sys (because it consumed so much from my expensive ssd disc space)

This is done by modifiying the registry like follows:

Go to the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power

change the value of HiberFileSizePercent from 4b(hex) or 75(dec) to 0

change the value of HibernateEnabled from 1 to 0

After that hiberfil.sys should be disappeared (if not it will disappear after reboot i think).

BUT the problem was, that pressing the FN+F12 hotkey lead to blue screen... so it was necessarry to disable it, what is done by modifying the registry like follows:

Go to the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\IBMPM

and change value of HibFileCreation from 1 to 0

Thats it.

Hope this helps someone...
