Thanks. Same problem with new X1 Carbon 2018, after creating a local user and installing all software i wasn't able to make an Acronis backup with the Win-PE Stick. Turn off the Encryption helps.

Please refer to this post for the solution to your problem.

I had the exact same problem and was trying to find a solution to it since a week.

 

First you may have to enable BitLocker for C Drive.

Once your enrypt, you will get the key as well.

Then you need to Decrypt it.

And then its done.

 

I just now successfully took an image of the C Drive.
