How to disable battery without going into setup for X1 Carbon machine type 20BS

2020-06-27, 18:47 PM

I cannot enter setup because I dropped the x1 while the power connector was plugged in.  There appears to be some sort of intermittent connection now.  So I cannot press F1 to go to setup to disable the battery.  What is the manual way to disable the battery?  Cut the Battery Plus lead?  Or change doing service with the battery connected???

open the rear cover, disconnect the battery connector by pick up the battery wires and lift the connector from the wire side, be sure to use a plastic tweezer or a wood stick. If you use a metal tweezer, boom! you may short circuit the battery, and it is so powerful that the spark can melt down everything around.
