How can I disable the mSATA drive in BIOS?

I need this to install an OS on a primary SSD without mSATA involved.

I just booted up my X220 with BIOS 1.39, but will not be attempting any BIOS updates on a machine of this age.

There is no option to disable mSATA that I can find anywhere. I have never seen such. At first, I thought that possibly disabling WWAN in the Security > IO port section would work since that is where the mSATA drive is connected, but mine is already set to DISABLED and my mSATA drive functions perfectly. My guess is the only thing the setting disables is the WWAN data path. The SATA path is separate from that on the port, IIRC.

So, to do what you want, you will need to find a way to remove the mSATA SSD even with the damaged port.
