How to manually turn off Nvidia 1050 when I want to save battery life of the X1 Extreme?

Hi, I hread that the machine automatically switches between the dGPU and iGPU. How can I manually turn off the Nvidia GPU to save battrey life while on the go? Thanks.

I think you can switch from Hybrid Graphics to Discrete Graphics in BIOS setting-> Config -> Display.

Thanks for the nice explaination. Is it possible to do it under Windows 10 and Linux so that I don't have to boot into the BIOS to turn it on/off?
