How to permanently disable keyboard backlight on X1 Yoga?

2017-03-12, 9:02 AM

For some stupid reason this useless feature self-enables each time I reboot.  This extreamely annoys me! I could not found BIOS option to permanently disable it. How can I do that?

I don't have an X1 Yoga but this works for me with other ThinkPads and IdeaPads:

1. Go to Lenovo Settings.

2. Click the keyboard/mouse icon on the left side toolbar.

3. Select the off icon.

That should set the backlighting off by default. It may still come on temporarily during a reboot. And you will still be able to turn it on manually if you wish (or by accident if you don't.)

Hello, having the same problem on my lenovo Thinkpad X380 Yoga.

I have tried to disable it using Fn+SPACE but every time at boot the backlight is again activated.

I can't find any specific settings in Windows Mobility Center nor in Lenovo Vantage (that I understood substituted the Lenovo Settings app).
