IBM X40 Reinstalling XP

I need help we currently have two hard drives for the laptop and nethier of them will work. Every time we try to install Xp it gives us 4096mb instead of the 40gigs that on the hard drive it will not fromat at all. I have also tried acronis.

 

Please Help!!

ITbythesea, welcome to the forum,

 

this sounds very strange. Try running SDD on the drives, lowest level, to see if it can "free" them up.

Yes, it can be installed on any system and then you can create a bootable cd from the ISO file.

If you download and then install SDD it places an ISO cd image in:

 

C:\Programme\ThinkVantage\Secure Data Disposal\ISO.

 

You can then burn the image to cd and boot from it to completely delete hard drives. Do NOT run this on a drive which contains important files, it WILL delete them.

it finished and still it did not do anything.

 

Also when I try with both HDDs I get 4028mb unpartitioned space that cannot be partitioned or run on.

eeee!! Something I forgot. Set the Predesktop Area to disabled in the BIOS Security menu. BIOS Simulator

it was already set to disabled but i'll try installing again.
