I was looking into replacing the defective wireless card in my Thinkpad X1 Extreme Generation 1 with an Intel AX200 or AX201, but people say the system does not even boot with the AX201, and the bluetooth stops working with the AX200. Is there any way to get one of these cards to work with the machine, or am I restricted to using the Intel 9560?

I have the AX200NGW installed on a X1YogaG2 and it boots without any issues. I thought there wasn't any whitelisting on the WLAN cards, only on the WWAN in newer generation units? The AX200 is pretty cheap to buy, so you'd probably just as well get one and see if it'll boot without complaing.

same problem here, x1 extreme 1st gen, tried ax200 and discovered bluetooth hardware is missing, i believe its because ax200 is not CNVI-interface like ac9560. dealer suggested to cover 13th pin from left(backside) by using plastic tape. tried, no luck. i think its probably because cnvi does not have usb power to support bluetooth module.
ax201 is CNVI2 platform requires 10th gen of intel cpu and definitely will not work on x1e 1st gen.
runnning our of options, stuck with ac9560 for a while. just ordered new netgear rax120 replace R8000, with 160Mhz, i'm getting 1.7Gbps connection speed, not as good as 2.4Gbps with AX200, but a lot better than 866Mbps.
the new x1 extreme gen2 uses AX200... maybe lenovo decides to switch back from CNVI to standard PCI-E, or maybe... just maybe, there is a *special* branch of AX200 works with CNVI.
can anyone find out? or perhaps borrow an ax200 from Gen2 to test drive it on Gen1 see if bluetooth will be back?

I have tried 5 or 6 versions of driver from intel including 21.50.0 few weeks ago, and no luck. but i still do believe there is more that intel could be done with driver to make this work. i heard someone mentioned in other fourm, that X1E Gen 1 does not have seprated usb power line in CNVi to "drive" the bluetooth parts in AX200, and lenovo "fixed" it in X1e Gen2 by changing hardware layer design, or using special branch of "custom made" AX200 cards. i havn't had a chance to get my hands on a X1E Gen 2 yet, so it may be something different with the hardware, card or motherboard, or it may just be a new driver.
