Intel HD Graphics Driver update failure - "This operating system is not supported"?

Hi!

I have an X280 (20KF), with Windows 10, version 1909. Latest KB4535996 installed. When trying to install Intel Graphics Driver (Version 1709 or later) (26.20.100.7812), installation fails ("This operating system is not supported"). It happens, when trying automatic as well as manual update.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any inputs!

Bo

Hi DrBo, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community! Where does the driver you are trying come from? Lenovo? Or are you trying to install one downloaded from Intel?

USB-C: Just cos it fits don't mean it works.
I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

Re:Intel HD Graphics Driver update failure - "This operating system is not supported"?

Hi DrBo,

Welcome to the Lenovo User Community!

Can you check which intel graphics driver version is installed on your current computer?

Whether one of the following driver version ?

If no,your machine's graphics Driver might install DCH driver via WU. But lenovo' s graphics drivedriver just releases Non-DCH on X280 .

DCH and Non-Dch can't update each other directly . So if you want to install non-dch driver , you could unintall the current dch completely .

Then download the latest driver from lenovo web to install .

There is a simple way to distinguish DCH or Non-DCH .

DCH's driver: right clicks on the desktop and there is no Intel graphics control panel

Non-DCH's driver: right clicks on the desktop and there is Intel graphics control panel

There is not much difference in functionality. Most of all,  DCH  singled out Intel's CUI.

It  will not install CUI when install dch driver , you need to  download from the Microsoft store.

Hope this is helpful to you !
