Intel UHD 620 Code 43 issue

2018-11-29, 2:20 AM

PC: X1 Carbon 20HK

OS: Windows 10 v 1803

Graphics Driver:  24.20.100.63.6344

Issue: In Device Manager the 620 driver displays a code 43 error. This does not effect the running of the PC but stops the PC from been connected to an external Dock a Lenovo C-Dock (Type 40A9) as external docks require updated graphics driver and USB3 drivers.

Tried:

- Using a downlevel driver 22.20.16.4815 - failed

- updateing to current driver 24.20.100.63.6344 - failed

- Ran full Lenovo System Update and updated EVERY driver  \ firmware possible, including the C-Dock - Failed

- Found web forums that pointed to BIOS VM settings "interfering" so have disabled virtualisation in BIOS - Failed

This is the 3rd 20HK that has had this issue and both the others in the end for speed they where just rebuilt (SCCM Corp Image) we have 40+ 20HK's and this is the 3rd so no consistancy that we can see yet.

The PC's  are fully MS Updated. There must be a update \ process to get this working as a rebuild is easy to say but pain in the arse even with a really good SCCM OSD.

Thanks in advance

Liam

Just had another 20KH fail in the same manner. Only real difference is the video driver version: 23.20.16.5018

Still hoping for a Lenovo person to post something :-)

Thanks

Liam

One of the other engineers fixed this issue, putting this up to help other people.

Used DDU (https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) to low level uninstall the driver and then load the Intel drivers for the UHD 620.

This fixed the issue :-)
