Keyboard: Delay for F1 and Caps-Lock

2013-03-30, 18:11 PM

Hello,

on my T42p as well as on the 60p I had a utility or different keyboard driver, that delayed the F1-Key and the Caps-Lock Key. This prevented me from undesigned uasge and was really helpful for me.

Unfortunately actually I cant find that patch, but I'm pretty sure, it was provided by LENOVO / IBM. Anybody out there, who can help me to find this?

Is it possible to have the same on my new X230 Thinkpad? What has to be done?

Thanks

Michael

Hello,

Are you thinking of the Sticky Keys option in Windows?  It can be found under Control Panel ► Ease of Access ► Ease of Access Center ► Make the keyboard easier to use in recent versions of Microsoft Windows.

It's called Keyboard Customizer. Not sure if it'll work on Windows 8 but I do remember it working on Windows 7.

Betreff: Keyboard: Delay for F1 and Caps-Lock

2013-03-31, 19:15 PM

Thank you for your answers.

The proposal from ColonelONeill is the one, I'm looking for.

As I'm using a system in German language, the translated names in ((German)):

A screenshot of that software

Thinkvantage Keyboard Customizer Utility ((Dienstprgramm ThinkPad Tastaturanpassung))
can be found here:

My German software shows

KeyboardCustomizer.gif

The third register KeySensitivity ((Tastenempfindlichkeit)) provides selectors for the press-duration,until the command is active. As can be seen from my setup, the duration for F1 is long and the one for ESC short (normal). Same for Caps-Lock ((Feststelltaste)).

The software ColonelONeill linked, seems to be only for the old keyboarddesign (f.e. X200), not for the X230. Also is not listed for Win7, only up to VISTA.

I'd really appreciate to have this for my system. Any proposal?

Thanks
Michael
