Hi !

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking on the hardware manual on most Idealine laptops, often that it would say:

"Battery charging does not start until the Power Meter shows that less than 95% of the total power remains; under this condition the battery pack can charge to 100% of its capacity. This protects the battery pack from being overcharged or from having a shortened life."

This would serve as an internal buffer of the battery firmware to prevent overcharging. Keeping the battery within 20-80% ideally is also known to extend battery life cycle rather than full draining and full charging.

Regards,

On top of what Lenovo employee said, is Charging threshold turned on in Lenovo Vantage?  Is it set at 90% ?  That would cause same effect.

I have tried battery gauge reset out of curiosity today, but when I realised it will take a lot of time, I cancelled it. Now my battery stops charging at 99% can anyone help me with this in resetting my battery gauge to the way it was before.
