Re: Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Touch 3444CUU - Wi-Fi adapter issues

2013-02-13, 16:42 PM

There is already another thread with this topic.

So far no fix as been found, for me and a few others.  Some people had good experience with the latest BIOS update.  While I think I have some minor improvement, I still experience a delay of 30 seconds for wireless to be active once resumed from sleep.  I also had some issues where the wireless just drops out while using it, requiring disable/re-enable of the device.  Cannot confirm if this is resolved as I haven't used the device much since my latest updates.

The latest drivers do work better but the wifi still is fairly unstable compared with every other Lenovo computer I have owned.  I still have to regularly reset the wifi.  It is much less frequently with the new drivers but the problem has not been eliminated.

I am having the same problem. it is getting progressivly worst over time.

I have a CUU also, and dont know if the wifi driver is different for non touch models.

Has anyone found a solution for this on the non-touch carbon forum?

Re: Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Touch 3444CUU - Wi-Fi adapter issues

I am having the same issues on a fresh X1 Carbon Touch 3460 AQG. Win8 64 bit OS-  8GB RAM, SSD

Wireless shows  Connections available but does not connect or does not even show wireless networks present.

Disabling and Enabling  the wireless device resolves the issue.

Any idea how to go about this issue to find a Resolution?

Gerd

I'm not yet fully sure, but this is the longest it stayed connected - I uninstalled Intel PROSet from Programs and Features. Now the WiFi has been connected for 24 hours+. Before it would drop the connection every 1-2 hours and had to Disable/Enable the adapter to get back on.

Previously, I had tried to:

- set the power plan setting for WiFi to Maximum

- uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device" box in Device Manager -> Power Management

- mess around with Roaming and Channel Width settings in Device Manager

- uptade Intel PROSet

- update my router software

- keep the router and the laptop in clear line-of-sight (I kid you not)

None of that worked...

Was there an actual fix for this?

I'm using an X1 Carbon with a clean install of Windows 8.1. It has the latest WiFi driver but I'm still having regular WiFi dropouts. The WiFi seems to stay connected to the network (I can access other devices) but it loses Internet access quite frequently, and the only way to get it back is to disable and re-enable the adapter.

So frustrating.

HI,
i have the same problem when i start Laptop or restart wifi does not connect.

In device manager it shows Yellow icon with Intel Dual Band Wireless 7256.

I have done everything . Power Management unchecked, Latest Driver 17.16.0.4. also setup the recommendation under Advanced settings. etc.

spent a whole day but nothing is working.

My X1 Carbon is of type 20BS.

it was working but i got mother board replaced from Lenovo Support due to Beep sound during startup.

But now with this if they have replaced the mother board WIFI is not working.

Any help is appreciated to solve this issue.

Thanks in advance
