Lenovo Update circling between two different AHCI drivers

Using WIn7 Enterprise 64-bit. Lenovo Update 5.06.1006 has me install

Intel Rapid Storage AHCI driver for Windows 64 ver 11.2.0.1006

After a reboot, I am prompted to install

Intel Rapid Storage AHCI Driver - 7 (64 bit) ver. 12.8.10.1005

which prompts me after a reboot to install the first driver.

Which should stay on the X230?

Re: Lenovo Update circling between two different AHCI drivers

Hi K7AAY,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As per the query we understood that you are facing the issue with Lenovo update utility on your ThinkPad X230.

If the Lenovo update is showing the message to update then you can update it. If you have already installed Intel Rapid Storage AHCI driver for Windows 64 ver. 11.2.0.1006 and after that if it is showing for Intel Rapid Storage AHCI Driver - 7 (64 bit) ver. 12.8.10.1005 then you can install it, this will over write the current version and there won’t be any issue on that.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Hemanth Kumar

Re: Lenovo Update circling between two different AHCI drivers

After the second driver is installed, it prompts me to reinstall the first
driver. It is looping between the two.

I see this also.  We will check on it.  Sorry for this inconvenience.

And, now this is happening with a T430 as well. Same version of OS and Lenovo System Update.

Re: Lenovo Update circling between two different AHCI drivers

We are still working on fixing this on our end.

The proper driver for your system is the 11.2

Ignore the update to 12.8 until we get this fixed on our end.
