Please try installing Lenovo System Interface Foundation from here:

After installing and rebooting, is the problem fixed?

Hi there, I was having this issue too and figured out it was due to being connected to our Azure AD. (Not sure what in Azure AD causes this yet) I created a local admin account, logged over to that account and ran Lenovo Vantage. Check for updates button was no longer greyed out. Hope this helps

Lenovo vantage has gotten stuck on the last few p15s we've deployed which are always logged in with AzureAD (which I note only because someone else suggested its related but this is the same as we've always done) - such that the check for updates ends up getting greyed out

the manual intervention of installing the Lenovo System Interface Foundation appears to resolve the issue

The Lenovo System Interface Foundation notes suggest it was updated a few days ago but is lacking notes.

Is this related?

Will it fix/update on other machines?

Thanks, @someotherguy !  Your solution worked!

1. Visit Lenovo support and download sif11ww197.exe ( support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds105970 ) ( Lenovo System Interface Foundation for Windows 10 (32-bit, 64-bit)

2. Exit out of Lenovo Vantage, and any other running applications.

3. Install Lenovo SIF (sif11ww197.exe)

4. Reboot.

5. Run Lenovo Vantage again and *poof!* it works!

I recently purchased two IdeaPad 7 series notebooks and both suffer from the same bug and were resolved with your help!
