Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th Generation HDMI Not working

Hey,
My HDMI port is not working, as I fail to connect the laptop to a monitor (The monitor, cable are working with other laptops).

I've tried updating windows version, drivers and everything, but it didn't help.
I've tried updating Thunderbolt firmware (n23th07w.exe), but it exits with error:

Exception has been thrown. Closing application...

Exception type: System.InvalidOperationException

Exception message: Sequence contains no elements.

Please help!

Welcome to Lenovo Community

 

 

To begin with, go to the BIOS menu, load the default settings, then save and exit.
Next step is to press the reset button located on the bottom of the system.
Its a tiny hole, you'll need a paper clip for this procedure.
Turn the computer ON, and test the HDMI.
Update us how it goes.

I followed your instructions, but I still unable to connect an external monitor via HDMI.

Hi, 

 

Has the port worked in the past?  If it did, it's possible the HDMI port simply died...

 

One thing I would suggest is running the automatically updater on Lenovo Vantage or directly from Lenovo's support site: laptops and netbooks :: thinkpad x series laptops :: thinkpad x1 carbon 6th gen type 20kh 20kg Lenovo PC Support - Lenovo Support US

 

This will update any out of date drivers which may help solve your issue (if it's simply a driver issue).
