Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen 2 - Memory Module Troubles

2019-12-17, 18:16 PM

i have ordered an Samsung M471A2K43CB1-CDT 16GB SODIMM 260 memory module for upgrade to 32gb.

but with the new module the notebook doesn't start, the screen is black.

then i have checked the orgin installed memory module, it's a Samsung M471A2K43DB1-CDT 16GB SODIMM 260.

- the new module was tested in both slots, no success

- in the Lenovo X1 Extreme 1 Gen it works

i haven't found out any differences between the two modules?

Welcome to the forums.  On first boot after you install new memory it will take a lot longer to boot up.  Give it time.  It may take 5 minutes or more.

See below post.

The first boot after you change ther RAM or certain other parts may take a long time - longer than you would think. The machine tests speeds and timings of each slot. It may take a full 2 - 3 minutes or even longer. Subsequent boots work normally. I turn the machine on amd go get a cup of coffee.
