Re:Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen2 maximum brightness (400cd/m²) seems restricted

Well now there's a newer driver that dulls the brightness again. I need to figure out how to find or roll back to the earlier one!

Any ideas?

Today Windows installed the newer driver on my Laptop AND deleted the back-up i had in the Driver-folder. Well done Intel. Making a bad driver AND disabling any chance of rollint it back. (Is there something wrong with using the full brightness on my laptop? I paid for that!) Good thing i made an external driver backup two days ago, because I got paranoid about that. So i was able to roll back. --> Faulty new drivers are getting kind of annoying on this device. (audio and graphics). In my opinion that is unacceptable for a premium laptop like that. I demand a fix.

Apparently there is going to be a fixed driver released soon (currently in Beta-testing).
Finally some good news!

Looking forward for the release.

Hello,

The BETA driver has been made available to me for the X1 Extreme Gen. 2. If anyone would like to give it a try please send me a private message including your X1 E Gen. 2 system serial number for validation purposes, I will then send a link to download the driver. By requesting to test the driver you accept that you are not permitted to re-distribute it to any other person.

UPDATE: The new beta driver DOES NOT solve the reduced screen brightness problem. The new driver limits the brightness to the same extent as the .7811 driver did. Rolled back to the trusty .7529 driver and the brightness was restored.

Re:Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen2 maximum brightness (400cd/m²) seems restricted

Today Lenovo announced a new ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3.

One of the new features is a 600-nit display.

Funny thing is Lenovo can't even keep the 500-net of this Gen 2 Extreme due to a faulty driver, reducing it to 400-nit.

Any chance you could send me your 7529 driver? My 4k P53s is having the same problem, and I didn't backup my old intel graphics driver before updating.
