Hi johannCH!

When did the issue start? What is the current fingerprint driver version running on your system?

Things to to try:
1. Uninstall the Synaptics device (including software checkmarked) from device manager.
2. In device manager right-clicking the top of the tree and select "scan for new hardware", which might reveal at first an "unknown device", which after a while will be recognized as the Synaptics device.
3. Restart the computer and check if the issue still present.

Let us know how it goes.

I'm having the same issue on the Yoga 920 and I've tried uninstalling, rrebooting, and then reinstalling - nothing. It works for a day and then fails again. It used to be finicky (like this user describes) but lately I've been getting a "something went wrong on our end" message, if it registers a touch to the sensor at all. Any other thoughts?

all you have proposed i have already done without success:

- reinstalling synaptics driver

- deleting all fingerprints

- deleting fingerprints in bios

current fingerprint driver version is 6.0.33.1105 (2019-12-19).

the problem exists from beginning.

i have also a X1E 1st generation, there is the same problem much more serious.

Hello,

I talked to windows support yesterday - it's a universal bug with the new update. They're expecting a fix in mid-February. Until then, I'm not sure there is an answer.
