Lenovo's X220 camera driver doesn't work

2011-09-29, 18:06 PM

Despite having my X220 since May I've only just started using the camera, and as far as I can tell Lenovo's driver doesn't work. The green led comes on but no image/video is sent to any program. Windows' generic driver works fine though.

hey vinuneuro,

that's strange, when you use the camera with the Lenovo driver was it at version 1.1.0.1147 ?

Re: Lenovo's X220 camera driver doesn't work

I have the same problem. I have the driver version 1.1.0.1147.  The camera used to work, but it stopped working.  I installed Skype today, and then tried to use the video through skype and it failed.  I closed Skype, and went to Sompletap to see if the camera was working, and it does not, but the green light turns on.  I also went to "Autolock" to see if the camera was working, and same thing... green light on, but no image.

I don't konw when the camera stopped working (I tested it in July when I bought the system), and don't konw if it is related to Skype setup, but I kind of doubt it.

My next step was to uninstall from device manager, and try to reinstall the same driver.  According to the device manager, the status is "device is working properly", and I have the latest driver.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Regis

This problem has fixed itself after several reboots.  I'll have to wait and see if the camera keeps working, or if it fails again..
